AWIT AWARDS is the longest-running award-giving body who gives recognition to local musical talents organized by the PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF THE RECORD INDUSTRY (PARI: or in the US the RIAA)

I"m told that the Awit Awards are basically the Grammy equivalent in the Philippines! I think the most important rule for consideration is that the song had to be produced, written, or recorded in the Philippines.
