This was a story on my local news tonight stating that their as been an uproar over whether is this commercial is racist or simply just a bit of fun

‘Get Happy’ is the tagline for Volkswagen’s new advertising campaign during the Superbowl. The commercial features Dave, a guy from Minnesota, speaking Jamaican against his collegues. Some say it’s extremely funny, some say it’s racist.

What do you think?

I personally think people need to relax and see the fun in it.

No it's not racist. It's saying Jamaicans are happy people. I think it's a compliment.

I'm sure it will shock some people but no Caribbean country is 100% black. There are people who look like him and speak with (real) accents.
