Leona Lewis has admitted that she doesn't check the chart placings of her singles and albums across the globe.
The singer explained that she feels she has a good connection with the British public following her win on The X Factor, and that they respect her decision to stay true to who she is.
"I think it's a good relationship," Lewis told the BBC. "Obviously, during The X Factor, people got to know me quite a bit and they got to see a journey unfold before them.
"I feel like people feel very invested in me. I've always been very genuine and just myself - and I think people respect that."
Asked if she keeps a track of her chart placings across the world, following previous successes across Europe, America and Asia, Lewis said that she only knows if something does really well.
"I don't really - I just know when something has done really, really well. I kind of just know off of that really. I don't look in depth at statistics and stuff."
In order to check your placing you would need to chart first, so...
So one single fails to chart and suddenly we're acting as if nothing she released ever charted? She was obviously speaking in general and not about Lovebird only.
She was happy when Glassheart topped Austrian and German itunes, tho.
So much shade
This is probably a good idea for any artist though. Getting obsessed with chart placings (like most of us are ) gets pretty tiresome and pointless.
