Directed by Jeff Wadlow, who also wrote the script based on Millar's Kick-Ass 2 comic book, the sequel was shot in Toronto between September and November last year (2012). Reporting from the set at the time, Millar teased that Kick-Ass 2 will feature an "astonishing" fight scene starring Chloe Moretz's Hit-Girl.
