Nelly Furtado addresses low turn-out for Canadian tour

So why is it that some of her pop colleagues (with the same or fewer hits) — such as Lady Gaga or LMFAO or Pitbull — can pack Rexall Place, but Furtado can now barely fill a venue of 2,000 fans? Did the six-year break between Loose and The Spirit Indestructible hurt her? Most likely.
“I think that’s the price I’ve had to pay for being inconsistent in my touring schedule,” she said during a phone interview in December, weeks before the start of her 2013 tour.
“I think you have to dedicate your life (to touring to attract large crowds) and I think I’ve had other priorities, I guess you could say.
“Not that I don’t enjoy touring — when I’m out there onstage, I’m giving it my all. But in the scope of my life and my career, I’ve put my attention to other areas. I mean, maybe I could’ve toured more, but instead I was starting my own label, putting out my Spanish record, working with charities. My life has changed. I really value living.”
No one I know is even aware Nelly put out an album the past year, it's a mess for her and her fans. It's easy to try and blame the label and promo (or lack thereof), but those singles really did nothing for her, to put it as kindly as possible. It's no surprise her tour numbers have suffered as well.
The charity card is always played when someone flops.
Nelly has made multiple trips to under developed countries in the past couple of years, one of which was the inspiration of TSI (the song). It's not like she's making excuses out of thin air.
OMG, TSI is turning out to be such a rough era for her - recently explaining why her album flopped, why she's not as famous, and now her tour. I really wanted to see her too.
