They say that with maturity comes with age and time. Well if that's the case, Prince is in his prime. His new musical efforts, after his 2x Grammy winning album
Musicology is something a bit retro of his earlier days mixed with an experimental twitch of techno. exudes the message of love over12 tracks, all in their own respects, instrumentally. The Bossa Nova teaser fused single "Te Amo Corazón", being sung over acoustic guitar leaves the listener entrapped after Prince's every staccato. The Timbaland-esque "Love" uses metaphoric lyrics over a riviting plethera of electronically tweaked drums. The rock track "Fury" sounds something saved from the
Purple Rain soundtrack, as it's continuous looped melody changes only once for a breakdown and comes back to the original state. Though Prince's experimentalism is respected and admired, he does go overboard a bit at the end of the song, usually deferring from the original intent and over all ruining the mood settled into from the main sound played in the seconds before. All in all, this mixture of funk and experimental soul serves as a great addition to the 2006 LP line up. ♥♥♥♥/♥♥♥♥♥ -
