'Charmed' a Casualty of WB-UPN Change

The spell is broken. The witches on "Charmed" won't be making the move when the WB network combines forces with UPN to become the CW network in the fall.
A WB spokesman confirmed a TV Guide report on Friday that said the supernatural series, which stars Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs, will end after eight seasons in May.
With "7th Heaven" having already announced its exit, it means that two WB long-running series won't move to the CW. The WB and UPN will both shut down in September.

The final episode of "Charmed" will air on May 21, TV Guide said. "It's been a hell of a run," Brad Kern, executive producer, told the magazine. "But all good things must come to an end."

awwww im soooo sad and crying now... sooo its definitely 100% official now this is Charmed last season , although its not suprised and im 98% already expect that but im still fu^kin sad , i never miss this show and a fan since season 1.. but like Brad said every good thing must come to an end... and i really hope Brian come back in last episode ! every fan want to see that since he left , and Shannen i dont think soo , its obvious she'll not come back.. they better make da last finale episode awesome , perfect and something memorable that we will not forget ! im still hurts now , yeah i know i act like a kid but who cares ! my obssesions with Charmed finally over :crybaby: ! i dont know what will i do without Charmed... hope da girls got other movies offer and other project

as they say all good things must come to an end even though this season has not been the greatest since leo left & since they brought in that girl from 8 simple rules.

I was wondering what shows would be knocked off by the formation of CW.

Most of the people working on the show wanted out of the show anyway, and I guarantee that pushed the cancellation. Charmed gets better ratings than half of the shows that are going to end up getting moved to the CW (One Tree Hill, Veronica Mars (even though I adore that show)). Of course, it may have been cancelled either way. I know Rose wouldn't renew her contract, and Alyssa didn't want to either... plus the show has gotten more expensive to make every year.

Ah well, it's sad... but it has lasted longer than most shows ever do.

"Charmed" jumped the shark a LONG time ago. They should have ended it when it was still good.
