Former X Factor champion Shayne Ward has blamed bosses at Syco Music after he was dropped from the label following the release of his third album.
The singer, who is currently competing in television show Dancing On Ice, won The X Factor in 2005 and released his last album Obsession in 2010 but claims he became less popular with fans after spending time out of the spotlight.
Shayne told new! magazine: “People have got to remember that the label took me away for three years.
“That three years didn’t do me any favours. I lost a large fanbase and released my Obsession album and before I knew it, I wasn’t with a label.”
However, the star insists he holds no grudge against Simon Cowell or executives at Syco Music.
He said: “I don’t see the point in being bitter. Let’s just say better decisions could have been made on certain things.
“I’m very happy with what I achieved with the time I had with the label.”

To those of you unaware, his album was scheduled to be released in 2009, but was pushed back by the label. After recording about seven albums worth of tracks with the likes of Darkchild and RedOne, all such songs were scrapped prior to the album's release. Louis Walsh (Shayne's manager at the time) admitted that Shayne was getting the short end of the stick at Syco,

Shayne confirmed yesterday on The Wright Stuff that he will "100%" be releasing a new record immediately after Dancing on Ice.
