As you know it is common to get razor bumps when you shave your chest and other areas. I never know how to treat them though! I put lotion on right after I shave to sooth but it's not enough.

Do any of you who get razor bumps after a shave have any secrets you are wiling to share on how to get rid of these bumps (preferably quickly)

You have to know how to shave for how your hair grows, what type of hair you have and it's varies from person to person.

If I were you, I'd stop putting a blade on your body and start using Veet to snatch the cat back.

This usually works for me (to prevent bumps):

Put rubbing alcohol on them. And pray for the best! That's what I did. And I really did pray because they would hurt!

I just deal with them even though they're awkward as hell and annoying.

I have it. It's why I rarely body shave. The itching and burning because of them. Even if i just use scissors. It feels awkward. When I went to spain I had to scratch my legs all the time because of the itching.

Nair.

Try taking a hot shower before you shave. And then putting on cream/lotion after you shave.

It works at disinfecting, but alcohol will dry the skin, which will make it more irritable later on.

I was using Nair for my legs for a while until I started getting in-growns popping up everywhere. Now I just trim my legs (and crack) ... Great product but is only a short term solution.

Sister Veet is good but in a hypothetical situation where one would be up close and personal with that area the lingering harsh smell is not cute. They may wonder why you smell like a chemical plant.

I use a hand mirror in the shower. Honestly it's not that bad.

I use scissors too but cleaning up is best with a razor and then I am left with a problem.

can't you just pat on some moisturizing lotion or bio oil and that will add moisture caused by the alcohol?

I'll remember clippers for delicate areas. :scary:

what stephen said, also...

- applying lotion or vaseline on the area after the hair has softened can help alleviate any irritation/stinging
- after you're done, after you rinse with cold water, apply lotion/vaseline again. your skin might sting for the first ten seconds, but you'll feel great afterwards

also, get a razor that glides they are much better. im a lesbian and i shave everywhere

I used to put I switched from standing shaving foam to sensitive skin gel. It helped, also I always shave after at least a 10 minute hot shower to help my skin.

For body use hair removal cream, works wonders.

Use nair (or veet as someone else mentioned). It's easier than shaving AND your skin is bump-free... or at least, mine is.

I used to have that problem. Stop using razors like some people have said. It's just a sign that razors aren't for you. Invest in an electric clipper and some men's facial nair.
