Ipod Question? Help Please!!!

hey i just brought an ipod nano yesterday, but i don't have Windows 2000 which is needed to install the itunes software...

does anyone know if there is any way to use an ipod without the software.there has to be away around this because I really dont wanna return it

What Operating System are you on? XP?

I very much doubt that Apple would sell a brand new iPod that only worked on an old version of Windows.
What message does it come up with when you try and install iTunes?

i have windows ME edition...

you have to have windows 2000 or higher to use the itunes software any suggestions

Windows ME is based on Windows 98; it's essentially Windows 98 third edition. So, while Windows 2000 was released earlier, the technology it uses is actually better and newer. Or to get really technical, Windows ME is version 4.9 and Windows 2000 is version 5.0 (and Windows XP is version 5.1).

Anyway, I suggest taking a look at this software:
XPlay - Got Windows Me or 98SE? If so, XPlay is required to make the iPod work!
