Last night in minneapolis i was lucky enough to get a ticket to the motion city soundtrack secret show in minneapolis. They played a venue called the 7th street entry which holds about 190 people at the most. thats tiny compared to the 2000 people venues they will be playing at on their tour which starts tonight in milwaukee. So here is my review
We will start it off by saying that they were taping this show for a rerelease of their commit to this memory album with a dvd. We were waiting in line for a good hour in the freezing minnesota winter and i couldnt believe it but Justin and Matt from motion city soundtrack bought two big cases of hot chocolate from starbucks and walked up and down the line of people giving us little cups of it to help keep us warm.
so here is a review of all the bands, i suggest you get a ticket to this show because its amazing
The Spill Canvas- Amazing band, only got to play a very short set but they were amazing
The Plain White T's- my friend is very good friends with these guys and we got to hang out with them after, Tom Their lead singer was very sick last night but still managed to put on an amazing show. Did screw up the lyrics a few times and his voice cracked because of his illness, but he turned the mic around and just let the crowd sing for him
Ok Go- Didnt know what to think of this band before seeing them, but they are honestly one of the most fun sets you will ever see, they had a dance at the end to promote their cd, and it will amaze you, not kidding.
Motion City Soundrack- just imagine 150 people crammed into a tiny floor smaller than your bedroom bouncing off eachother, dancing singing along to about a 2 hour set my motion city. It was amazing, they stuck around for a good while after the show to talk and hang out.
Get tickets to this tour, it will be amazing even if you dont get to see it in a tiny venue.
