Sometimes I feel like people on ATRL don't respect black artists as much as their counterparts. Maybe it's because the majority of ATRL is white and just isn't familiar with many black artists. Then we when something is said about it, WE'RE ACCUSED OF PLAYING THE RACE CARD. Two examples are MJ and Beyonce. I've seen multiple people say that Katy has had more impact than MJ when we ALL know that isn't in the least bit true. And the fact that Katy is widely known as the "female MJ" on ATRL just adds fuel to the fire. Comparing such a new artist to one that left enormous impact is criminal. And I've even seen people say that MJ shouldn't be compared to Katy because she is better.
And then there's Beyonce who is one of the most successful artists of the 2000's (not to mention in one of the most popular girl groups of all time), but on ATRL it is widely said that she only has a few hits. I've even seen multiple people say she has no hits. We all know Crazy In Love, Irreplaceable, and Single Ladies ruled their respective years. I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THAT IF BRITNEY HAD BEY'S DISCOGRAPHY, IT WOULD BE RECOGNIZED MORE. That's my opinion. Share your thoughts.
