I mean, do you let critics influence your judgement on an album or movie? Or you form your opinion regardless of what anybody else but you think about it?
Also, post examples of when you have disagreed with almost every critic on an album/movie quality.
Personally, I can't not let the critics influence me. For example, I was expecting Les Miserables release with pre-Oscar tears, but now that I see the movie downgraded to a Mixed rating in almost every publication, I can't see it the same way.
Sometimes critics help me dissect a song or album and help highlight what makes something good or unique, but a lot of the time I don't pay attention to critics. Most of the get caught up in an artist's personal life and ignore the music completely, which isn't exactly good for a 'professional critic'.
I like to make up my own mind about songs, and some of my favourite albums ever are critically panned.

Not fully. Unless it's trashed to the pits then it'll influence me. If it's mixed to positive then I don't really care coz that means that some critics still like it and I might also like it
Sometimes yes, especially with movies when most of the time I don't have a legit reason to watch them. If critics give bad reviews to an artist I already like I am most likely to ignore them but if it's by an artist I already dislike, I feel then there's more reason for me not to listen to their album
I can formulate my own opinion on albums independent of critics.
Most critics dragged the Glitter soundtrack for filth, but it's one of Mariah's 5 best albums.
Most critics don't major in music in college; they major in english. For that reason, I don't think their opinions on music hold any more weight than anyone else's.
