I think it gave my computer a virus.

limewire sucked for me too. suddenly window was not opening and i had to removed it .

What are you downloading? I use it all the time. Maybe you don't have an Antivirus thing installed on your computer. It works fine for me.

It sucks because you're probably leaving the files you downloaded in your Shared Folder on Limewire. Take them out of the share folder and put them into My Music or whatever your music file is and you shouldn't have a problem (delete the file off Limewire too after you make the transfer). You'll probably have this problem with everything you use unless you do this because all of them are File Sharing programs.

I leave my songs and never get a virus. Maybe it's cuz when it says file corrupted, I delete it and not leave it

Make sure your Home PCs have Anti-Virus software, and its retrieving updates on a regular basis! If you don't, your asking for something bad to happen!

Limewire is OK. But I haven't tried anything else yet.

it's better than ares, kazza, etc...

Bearshare is good...but there are a few versions out there new, I have a really good old version you seemingly can't download exactly anymore.

I use Limewire and I think I got a virus from it because 2 days ago, my computer crashed and after it rebooted, I couldn't play any MTV and AOL videos and I can't play anything on Windows Media Player now. Is there anyway I can fix this? I've tried everything and it still doesn't work. All help is appreciated.

yea they ahve that built in virus protector. also tells u files are corrupted.

I believe that you get viruses when you download EXE files from these p2p programmes, well, it doesn't happen to me when I use them to download mp3s.

I recommend "Ares" ,it works very smooth ,It has better results and much safer.

********. Limewire better than Ares, come on. Ares is by far safer and easier to use. And at least you don't have to worry about viruses and the ilk like you do every time you download something off of Limewire...

i've never had problems with limewire...

but i think that ares and emule are better

I downloaded a episode of Nip tuck and other from Desperate Housewives ..but I can't see them..they are in AVI format..what can I do????

download DivX player from www.divx.com ,it plays all the avi formats.
