Katy Perry and Russell Brand split well over a year ago, but that doesn't mean that the former couple don't still support each other. According to The Sun, the "Firework" singer, 28, reached out to Brand, 37, via email to congratulate him on 10 years of sobriety.
"10 years clean today. Thanks for all your messages of love... Anyone can get clean, one day at a time," Brand tweeted on Dec. 13.
"She wanted to let him know that she was thinking of him and that she was still proud of what he has achieved," a source told the publication. "She also wanted to drop him the email to wish him a happy 2013 and to let him know that her heart was finally healing"
In September, Brand told Australia's "60 Minutes" why the pair had abruptly filed for divorce in December 2011, just 14 months after marrying. "Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it don't," he said. "But if you sort of sense there’s an incompatibility, then in any relationship, regardless of the status of the individual, it kind of is best to go separate ways."
Perry has since publicly moved on with musician John Mayer, whom she has been dating since the summer.

Probably fake due to the source, but it wouldn't surprise me if she did. She obviously still cared for him post-divorce going by her movie, and 10 years sober is an achievement he and people who care for him should be proud of, so it's not too much of a stretch to imagine it's real.
It's always better to be able to remain friends after the break up.
