#5 - Jackson Family
This past summer, the world watched as a family dispute over Michael Jackson's estate -- that has put Jackson's children and mother at the center -- was played out publicly online, on national television, in court and in a videotaped confrontation between some of Jackson's famous siblings and his mother Katherine's nephew. Five of the siblings, including Janet, Jermaine and Randy, accused Michael Jackson's executors of a wild array of allegations. Then Jackson's children accused those same siblings of "kidnapping" their grandmother when she suddenly took a spa vacation in Arizona. After briefly losing custody, Katherine worked out an arrangement to share custody of Jackson's three children with Tito Jr.
#4 - Madonna vs. Lady Gaga (with help from Elton John)
At a May 31 concert in Tel Aviv, Madonna performed a mash-up of her 1980s hit "Express Yourself" and Lady Gaga's "Born This Way." Gaga responded to Madonna for stirring up the "haterade" at a concert in New Zealand: "It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves, to put other people down, or make fun of them, or maybe make mockery of their work, and that doesn't make me feel good at all." The feud began in January when Madonna dissed Lady Gaga's sort of-sound-alike track and described it as "reductive" to ABC News' Cynthia McFadden. By summer, Elton John had entered the fray, complaining about Madonna's treatment of Gaga. "She's been so horrible to Gaga," he said referring to his son's godmother. Then he took his own swipe at her, telling an Australian TV show in August that not only was Madonna's career "over," but that she looked like a "fairground stripper."
#3 - The Lohans
This famous feuding family once again aired their dirty laundry in public. In October, Nassau County police were called to the Merrick, N.Y., home where Lindsay Lohan grew up following a dispute between the actress and her mother Dina Lohan. The next morning, the pair were snapped hugging it out. Later that month, Lindsay's dad Michael Lohan tried to stage an intervention at his daughter's Beverly Hills home amid concerns that she was drinking again. He told E! that his daughter called the cops and he was turned away. She then released a statement to ABC News, saying, "It's apparent Michael continues to be very focused on getting publicity for himself. Lindsay's team is in no way aligned with him or his actions."
#2 - LeAnn Rimes vs. Brandi Glanville
Earlier this month, Brandi Glanville claimed that her 9-year-old son got sick after ingesting laxatives belonging to his stepmom LeAnn Rimes, who fired back, calling the allegations "threatening," "mean-spirited" and untrue. Rimes had a very public affair with actor Eddie Cibrian while he was married to Glanville, and Rimes and Cibrian both divorced their then-spouses to marry each other. The two women began feuding on Twitter after Rimes referred to Glanville's children, Mason, 9, and Jake, 5, with ex-husband Eddie Cibrian as "my boys." Glanville tweeted in response: "Someone is trying 2 get under my skin by calling MY children "her boys"Sooo transparent! They R MY boys, Eddie Boys and ur step-sons... 4 now" Then, she told Us Weekly that Rimes was "unstable" and "not healthy" and has an eating disorder. Rimes' rep responded with, "She is the only one to gain by spewing forth inaccuracies, rants and half-truths. It's time for people to see it for what this really is -- she has a book and show to promote and sell."
#1 - Donald Trump vs. Everyone
Who didn't the Donald pick a fight with this year? In August, he took aim at fellow media mogul Arianna Huffington. "@ariannahuff is unattractive both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man- he made a good decision," he tweeted. Trump renewed his feud with Rosie O'Donnell, with whom he has famously feuded since her stint on "The View." In May, he took a swipe at her, when comparing her to Cher after the singer expressed her hatred for Mitt Romney on Twitter. Trump tweeted at Cher, "Like @Rosie O'Donnell, a total loser!" O'Donnell tweeted back several times saying, "He returns - like a raging herpes rash. He wants me ... He needs me - he is obsessed ... like a grandpa stalker." But the pair's feud appeared to soften Aug. 21 after O'Donnell revealed she had suffered a heart attack. "@Rosie, get better fast. I'm starting to miss you!" Trump tweeted. He showed no change of heart on President Obama, however. After reviving his dispute with Obama's birthplace, he ranted on Twitter following the president's re-election, "This election is a total sham and a travesty."
