How come some artists insists to add curse words in their songs?

Because they want to express themselves that way
They can and use it like we do every day

Well, the songs (I would hope) are reflections of themselves, and I guess they use cuss words in songs like they would in real life.

Why would artists NOT put curse words in their songs? That's the real question

For some I guess it's just how they'd say things if they were speaking it but sometimes I do feel like they've put it in for no reason.

not sure why artists would want to put curse words on their songs sometimes because isnt it easier to sell without them?

This was the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread title, and you know what? I think I can see where Slim's coming from. Writing lyrics is harder than most people think it is, and a single word can change the tone of an entire verse. Some artists put swear words in their songs because they feel that those are the words that can most effectively convey the message that they're trying to get across.

Because it's fun to sing them aloud.

They want to seem kewl

Because they're part of our language?
