Today is the 9th anniversary of the death of 90s icon Keiko, best known for playing the lead role in the film franchise Free Willy and for being the first Orca successfully rehabilitated back into the wild after a worldwide campaign.

I must have been living under a rock because I didn't know he died.

He died about a year after being set free from pneumonia.

Don't be sad, he got to live his final year on this planet in the ocean after 19 years of swimming in circles, he died happy and free

I remember when Keiko was in Mexico it was the main attraction in Reino Aventura

Anyway I signed up, hopefully they will do the right thing for Morgan.

My childhood

I thought he died a few years ago, I didn't know it was 9. Interesting.

I remember loving Free Willy as a kid and being in disbelief when I saw Keiko in Oregon.

Didn't realise it had been so long since he died.

R.I.P Keiko, I really wanted to see him when I was little because he was in Oregon

Orcas are the lions of the ocean. They look cute in movies but they're actually apex predators. They kill and eat sharks and even whales much larger than them.

What's your point? They hunt?
