Simon Cowell has revealed that he isn't concerned One Direction failed to receive any Grammy nominations.
The X Factor boss insisted that the boyband's fans and record sales are more important than award ceremonies.
"You know what's more important? Fans, record sales, I've always said that," Cowell told MTV News.
He added: "Maybe next year they'll get something. Trust me, they're not complaining."
One Direction would have qualified for Grammy nominations with their debut album Up All Night and US singles 'What Makes You Beautiful' and 'One Thing'.
Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj's respective managers appeared to take their clients' Grammy snubs less well.
Bieber's manager Scooter Braun said the Grammy board "blew it" and had "no excuses", while Minaj's manager Cortez Bryant branded the decision "********". (source)
