After Catfish, no.

In the past, I would only use dating websites to meet men. I've lived in mostly small towns where it's impossible to find gay men around my age. And since I was homeschooled throughout high school, I wasn't exposed to any possible high school sweethearts. I gave up online dating websites about a year and half ago, though. They're too messy and risky. Plus, nearly everybody on them is only looking for sex. Catfish made me really hate online dating.

I've found that the connection is much stronger when you know somebody offline for awhile before pursuing a relationship with them. I crave that strangers > acquaintances > friends > close friends > boyfriends progression now.

I don't use dating websites really. I met my ex online though, though we weren't in an "e-lationship." I'm not opposed to dating websites though, just not my thing.

Use dating sites? No. Meet someone online? Yes.

My longest relationship was with someone I met online. We dated for 3 years. We met in person. We even talked about moving in together but you know, **** happens.

I started talking to my current boyfriend on Gaydar well we didn't actually speak on Gaydar, he added me from it on MSN and we spoke for the first time on MSN (As I never usually used gay dating sites just had an account there!). He lived 10 minutes from me and we knew a hell a lot of the same people. We ended up bumping into each other at a club and he asks me out on a date. 2 and a half years later and we're still going out! LOVE #WIN

I've only had one really bad instance where I met somebody online who turned out to be fake. It was at a mall when I was about 14. We talked for a couple of weeks before meeting, and when I met what I thought was a 16 year old boy, he turned out to be a 40+ year old man.

I'm (a year) too young to sign up for those online dating sites, but I've met up with a girl I met on BlogTV back when I broadcasted, we had a relationship for a while, but we started to forget about each other in a matter of months.

I use Grindr. I mainly troll, though.

Scenario #1

* Me: Hey. Not much. Just relaxing after work.

At which point I just lose interest.....

* Me: Thanks!

* Me: (no response for a while)

* Guy: Hey! Hello?

The key to online relationships is to Skype them before you meet in person.

See that's what I don't understand. What do these people think will happen when they meet up IRL and they aren't who they said they are or they look different? Do they hope the other person will just go with it or something
