When it comes to anticipated albums for 2013, Atoms For Peace definitely have enough about them to cause a bit of a stir. The project of Radiohead leader Thom Yorke, long term producer Nigel Godrich, Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea, Joey Waronker, and percussionist Mauro Refosco, what we've heard to date is pretty much as one would expect. Which is to say, really very good.
Now there's more new material to get our teeth in to. With debut album 'Amok' due on February 25th via XL, Yorke and Godrich dropped in to Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show this evening, premiering new single 'Judge Jury And Executioner'.
Talking about live plans, the pair claim nothing is booked at the moment, but a European tour is currently being considered. There were also vague murmurings about Glastonbury, though according to Yorke the full band "won't have got our **** together by then."
Yorke also revealed that the much talked about Radiohead material recorded at Jack White's Third Man Studio will be released eventually.
'Judge Jury And Executioner' will be available from iTunes from midnight tonight.
JJX has grown on me....... but I still don't think much of it.... The only interesting thing about it is the time signature... shame these alt acts only know about complex rhythms and not complex harmonics...
