98) Kanye West ft. Jamie Foxx - Gold Digger
This is Kanye's third and final song to appear on my year-ender. An incredibly addicting song with a beat that would not let up, shooting it to number one on Billboard for several weeks. Too bad on my countdown he's 98.

97) Utada Hikaru - You Make Me Want To Be A Man
Easily one of the craziest videos of 2005. This is Utada's second and last song to appear on my year-end countdown. Personally, my favorite Utada song is "Simple and Clean" and maybe she'll make it higher next year.

96) Ryan Cabrera - shine On
Ryan's first and last song on my countdown. As Ashlee Simpson's ex-bf I guess he got his share of the limelight.

95) Britney Spears - Do Somethin'
Britney's first song on my year-ender. They really let her direct this. The result one of the most ridiculous videos of the year. I gotta give it to her she gave me laugh and married K-Fed. Thanks Britney for keeping us all entertained.

94) Destiny's Child - Cater 2 U
Destiny Fulfilled: it kinda says it all. This is the last DC3 that will ever appear on my charts. It was fun while you were with us girls.

93) Shakira - Don't Bother
The second of three Shakira songs on the chart. Just a fun video and a catchy song. Not as good as her Laundry Service album but still notable.

92) Mariah Carey - Shake It Off
The first of three Mimi songs on my chart. Just another Mariah song that's ever-popular and radio friendly.

91) Story of The Year - Sidewalks
The second and final Story of the Year song on my countdown. Just a slow-tempo rock song. Congrats to the boys for cracking the top 100.

Reminiscent of "Haile's Song" and just another sad Em song. It's good but definitely not his best.

A fun dance hit of this year. Although released in '04 this was one of my techno jams.

88) Avenged Sevenfold - Bat Country
Too bad I didn't start liking this song until later in the year...could have been a huge hit! Better luck next year.

87) Maroon 5 - Sunday Morning
Another 2004 carry-over song. This is just one of those songs that makes me all warm inside. I guess Adam Levine has one of those voices...

Fun songs, fun band. This was a great song and I applaud Hot Hot Heat. I'm not sure why this isn't higher.

Another good Foo Fighters song...definitely not their best and got a little annoying after a while. But good, nonetheless.

There are more Death Cab songs to come I promise. This song is just one of my favorites off PLANS and spent a decent stint on my countdown without ever being released as a single.

83) Armor For Sleep - Car Underwater
A great song...I was unfortunate to miss them live this year when all my friends saw them. The video doesn't do much for the song but a great effort from this guys. I expect more to come in following years.

82) The White Stripes - Blue Orchid
I'm actually not a big fan of The White Stripes but this song was particularly wonderful. And I loved the video. I liked the song enough that I bought the CD in all honesty.

A good song with some fun lyrics. Not the best song of this year but just a decent rock song.

79) Kanye West - Diamonds
First single off Kanye's much anticipated sophomore album. A good single and an even better video. I wish this song had been more well-recieved than "Gold Digger" but you take what you can these days.

78) Hidden In Plain View - The Innocent Ones
I saw this band live and absolutely fell in love with them. They've got more songs to come on the countdown...but this was a more recessed song and instantly became one of my favorites off the album.

77) Panic! At The Disco - Lying The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off
Anyone who's ever heard of this band knows their lyrics are highly infectious and scream teen angst and make fun of the band scene. Coupled with some Chuck Palahniuk references...Panic! is one of my favorite bands. They are a techno version of Fall Out Boy basically.

76) DHT - Listen To Your Heart
A cover that absolutely dominated radio for many weeks. A good song to listen to but I'm almost sure this will be their first and only hit.

A local band that's become one of my favorites. A pop/rock group that are bound for bigger things...I suggest you take a listen to this band...try myspace.

As you guys know...this song title was my original username. They are another pop/rock band that everyone should check out. I belive they hail from San Diego and you should try to check out a show of theirs...like I did. I promise you won't be let down.

Just one of those easy-listening songs that hits you in the heart. Just a great song that I still like today.

Just a great song from these guys. As the second single off their debut Hot Fuss...this became one of my most played on my iPod. I believe Hot Fuss continued to be 2x Platinum so congratulations to the guys. Not to mention it is a highly entertaining video.

42) Death Cab for Cutie - The New Year
A carryover from the Transatlanticism masterpiece...this is quite an amazing song. After I heard this song...I was in love with Death Cab. The video is exquisite as well. Death Cab however does have a song higher on the countdown so look out for that.

41) Beck - E-Pro
Beck came back into the spotlight this year with the release of Guero. This was a fun video that probly gave people with epilepsy many a seizure...but good nonetheles. Welcome back Beck!

I told you that bunch was creepy...anways 4 of the 5 remaining pop songs appear in this next group...so we get a bit of a mixed bunch with this one...o well here we go.

40) Mariah Carey - We Belong Together
Undeniably, this was the most played song (on radio) of 2005. Mariah Carey has led herself to another 5X Platinum CD in the states alone so congratulations to Mariah

39) Jem - Maybe I'm Amazed
This has to be my favorite cover of 2005. A female's vocals on this song add depth to the already good song.

This is kinda an oddball of the group. I heard this song for the first time and was like hey that's pretty good and here it is 11 months later at 38 on my year-end countdown.

What can I say? This is a brillian pop masterpiece. Though her record sales may never be sensational this song has a particular place in my heart.

36) Remy Zero - Fair
One of the stand-out tracks on The Garden State Soundtrack (which happens to be one of this year's best movies). Just another great song that's worth listening to.

35) Kelly Clarkson - Behind These Hazel Eyes
No one can deny the popularity of this song or the success of Kelly this year. She earned her spot on my countdown. Congratulations Kelly, you are here to stay.

This is one hell of a fun song. The beat, the lyrics...wooh! I love it.

33) Gwen Stefani - Cool
Another one of those feel-good songs. By the way I love No Doubt and Gwen Stefani and this was just a great hit. (The last pop song also belongs to Gwen this year so look for that later).

32) M83 - Teen Angst
A french synth rock band...hell yes! The video of the outsider girl only adds to this rock masterpiece with a simple eight lines for its lyrics.

31) The Album Leaf - Eastern Glow
A just under 6 minute rock triumph. In all honesty I first heard this on The OC and was like this song is amazing! So just check it out...

30) Feist - Mushaboom
Anyone ever hear of the Canadian indie band Broken Social Scene? Well Feist is one of the 24 members...and she does her solo thing now. Her voice is sexy and her stage presence is amazing...this is another one of those feel good songs...and I also saw her at the Theater of Living Arts in Philly.
"It may be years until the day my dreams match up with my pay."

29) Straylight Run - Hands In The Sky (Big Shot)
Now I was a fan of Straylight Run before the 2005 EP dropped (that is they have a song from their full-length higher than this one). The 2-minute emo piano intro that gets into a little bit of screaming and amazing hand-claps...I love it. And not to mention the video was one of this year's best.

28) Copeland - Choose the One that Loves You More
Another one of those great mixtape songs. Another one of my pop/rock bands that I enjoy listening to. The lead singer has a wonderfully high-pitched voice and hits some fun notes.

27) Michael Tolcher - Sooner or Later
The theme song off one of my favorite shows (Life as we Know It...which got cancelled). This is just an inspiring song that reminds the listener to LIVE life.

Just a great song, a great album. The video is cool. Just -wow- I hope to hear more in the coming years.

25) Broken Social Scene - Anthems for a 17year old girl
Like I said there are 24 of them and I know this song is from 2003...but I love it to this day. All of their songs are amazing and I highly suggest you check them out.

24) Taking Back Sunday - This Photograph Is Proof (I Know You Know)
What countdown would be complete without a Taking Back Sunday song? I have to admit...this CD wasn't as good as the last one...but still some excellent tunes sprang from this. This CD debuted at 3 back in 2004 so you know the boys are doing something right. This is a great song and an okay video.

23) Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends
Green Day's American Idiot was an absolutely huge success this year and last year. This is one of the best Green Day songs I have heard in a while and the video was amazing (not to mention that Evan Rachel Wood from Thirteen is in it). Thank you for this Green Day.

22) Panic! At The Disco - Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks
I promised another Panic! song and here it is. This is just another example of one of their fun songs. With catchy lyrics, a techno beat, and his vocals...I want more!!!

21) Jimmy Eat World - Drugs or Me
WOW ABSOLUTELY FRICKIN' WOW. Not released as a single, but this song just hit a familiar pain with me and I don't want to talk about it...but this song almost made it go away. This song is just so beautiful and amazing. 50 years from now I'll still like this song. This is the first of two Jimmy Eat World songs on my year-ender.

20) Mae - The Everglow
A great concept album that told the story of a boy looking for happiness i.e. the everglow. This is simply a warm song that makes you feel all good about life.

19) Motion City Soundtrack - Everything Is Alright
I actually had the honor of seeing Motion City live so this comes with a story. At the concert I was making my way to the front row and i had to go through the mosh pit to get there...well I got kicked in the face and got my glasses broken. I did find half of them...but it was worth it when I got to the front row (which comes later).
"But I'm getting better at fighting the future"

18) The Academy Is... - The Phrase That Pays
I've also seen them live...back in February I think. This is the first of two TAI songs on the countdown. This is just an awesome emo rock song. The best part is...it only gets better with time.
"Hold your head high heavy heart"

17) My Chemical Romance - Helena
I had the pleasure of liking this band when their first CD came out (I brought you my bullets, you brought me your love). So when they made it big...I was only that much happier. I also saw them live this year with Alkaline Trio. (Yea, I go to a lot of concerts). Well this is a great song, and a great video.
"Like the blade you stain, I'm holding on tonight"

16) Fall Out Boy - Dance, Dance
I actually saw Fall Out Boy twice this year. The first time before the release of From Under the Cork Tree...where I first got to hear their new material. (Yes, I was a fan from Take This To Your Grave). So the boys have a song higher on the countdown than this one. But this is a great song and an amazing video that just continues to show their quirkiness and pop/punk/emo roots.
