The examples they've got in that article are ridiculous and don't show any legitimate comparisons at all, oh they happened to look similar from the a side (Mad's isn't even as turned as Gwen there) and they are copying moves? They look similar from that angle cos they're both slim women, if one was an alien with tentacles they would probably look different, copying a move means it has to be unique to someone and it's then overtly done by someone else - and they weren't even probably doing the same move there.
Top hats? Oh my gosh, Mad's one is stylised so to copy it would be something, the one Gwen is wearing is typical tuxedo style for women which has been in fashion for a few years now. It's not even a funny hat, it's a classic design so what's so weird about a top hat? The Indian make up? What, wearing the eye make up once or for a little while means you wear it all the time? Newsflash, Gwen has practically never changed her face make up combination - that there is an exception, not a norm for her and Mad's has been through Indian, Chinese and is now pretending to follow one of the older Judiac books heavily based on the second book of Edras conviently left out of the bible no? I.E the Kabalah - she wore it abit during her Frozen era when she thought she was spiritual and Hindu. Fitness buffs? Most celebs have trainers and many work out a lot so big deal. The tracksuits - no, Gwen is known for them, Mads just happens to be wearing one there inthe same colour which makes sense in terms of her current retro image and if she wears them more, it's not part of her public image. The not blonde thing is the most stupid thing there - neither are naturally blonde so they're copying each other? If they were sisters and one went blonde and then the other decided to do the same and perhaps even the same shade, then it would be copying, jeez Madonna has been every hair colour, Gwen has been minly blonde and pink dyed< ---- so I guess Pink copied her when she came out, of course
Honestly - there are definitely comparisons between Mads and Gwen, but none of what they listed above. I can't believe people get paid to write/create that rubbish, I'd chuck their arse off my paper/mag if that's all they could come up with. Like Jasonpham_17 said, Gwen cam after Mads and M was a big influence (still is but not as revolutionary) on Gwens generation but Gwen has been in the business a long time too, she's probably less like Mads now then she would have been and plus Gwen doesn't reinvent as much as Mads. The only physical similarity is when Mads is blonde and retro, or doing Monroe. As for the Italian Catholic bit, Mads religious/heritage views have been more of a statement and part of her public persona then Gwens. Gwen has stayed the same to a much larger degree over her career except diluting her music abit and becoming more fashionable then she was before being solo. Before she was known for her fashion, but as alternative quirky, now she seen as more catwalk stylish but still quirky, or more pleasantly 'eccentric'.
Sorry for the rant, I wasn't even going to bother, but ripping into the idiots who came up with that photo comparison was better
