Bing has announced the top searches in 2012 across a variety of categories, including people, sports stars, news, reality TV and more. What most captured the interest of the American public this year?
Kim Kardashian was the most searched person this year, and she didn’t even have a new sex tape out! Congratulations, Kim K. Sisters Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian failed to make the top 10 for most searched person of the year, though
the entire trio made up the top three most searched reality TV stars.

most searched person of the year list, it went like this:

5. Lindsay Lohan

Bieber had topped last year’s list, thanks to his stable of rabid Beliebers’ stalkerish search habits. Notably
absent from the collective consciousness: the President of the United States, Salman Khan, Justice Anthony Kennedy, Ben Rattray, and countless others who undoubtedly changed the world in 2012, yet fail to capture the two-second attention span of the public quite like the pretty, shiny people.
A few celebs fell off the list entirely in 2012, including Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Megan Fox and Lady Gaga. Brace yourselves for a rash of stints in rehab, two-week marriages, pregnancy scares and DUIs as America’s finest attempt to vault themselves back into online relevancy in 2013.

Hurricane Sandy than that aggravating toddler with the delusional parents, though just barely;
Honey Boo Boo and a terrible natural disaster come in fourth and fifth in search volume, respectively.
Bing’s description of this category is as entertaining as the results themselves: “Even if the Mayan calendar is wrong about 2012, news coverage from the year was nothing short of historical.” Or hysterical.
