That is what curvy looks like and has always looked like, just nowadays many curvy women in the limelight work out alot which changes the general shape abit and looks slightly thinner or thinner in certain areas, hence there are two types of visible curvy body type which are healthy. The unhealthy ones are the ladies who carry all their weight on top, are overweight curvy and hence have big stomachs/waists/arms etc but skinny or thin legs and then the opposite and then those who are curvy but overweight all over. It's just now in the times where people spend a lot of time perfecting their jawlines and toning up the stomach etc where the traditionally curvy archtype is seen as fat in comparison to those who are toned curvy. The common way in which traditicnally curvy (and not 'fat' overweight) looks different is if the person has a smaller frame e.g. smaller bone structure or is actually shorter or petite, hence they might not look as curvy even if they are more so unless they're Dolly Parton. But Mariah is taller and has a larger frame unlike someone of an ideal model bone structure who is tall and very thin naturally.

And I'm blaming the fabric choice (along with the fact it's clearly made for Mariah about three sizes ago) for her looking like that.

Mariah has gotten so fat. She has a double chin and everything. She's lucky she has make up and highlighters to give her better bone structure.

A double chin has always been part of the curvy archtype and very very common place, only up until a few years ago like I said; it's only really been this generation that have been concerned with perfecting the jawline etc. In the 80's and before, it wasn't such a big deal. It's mainly her waist area that is bigger but that is common among standard sizes now as well, teenage girls/women are bigger then they used to be on average.

You would be on to a good point - horizontal stripes round a curvy body? Not a good choice, the vertical ones like on her bust would be better - but still, she's not even fat. It's hard to find many curvy 5ft9 women, so I think she's lucky personally.

I think this is actually more flattering than what she's been wearing lately. The fabric and colour just seems to work for some reason and her legs are looking great as usual
