A few years ago, at least in the US, the only serious musical TV show was American Idol.
Today, there's not only three major reality music shows (The Voice, Idol, and XFactor) but also musical dramas Glee, Smash, and Nashville.
Are musical shows just a fad? Will they fade away in a few years? or have they captured a permanent section of the industry like medical/legal/cop dramas, reality shows, and crazy family comedies have?
The next music related tv series should be a scripted series based on stan culture and places like atrl. And the music from that will be up on iTunes every week too
