For a while, it's been assumed that the follow-up to Big Boi's Sir Lucious Left Foot: the Son of Chico Dusty would be called Daddy Fat Saxxx: Soul Funk Crusader. And although there's still no official release date or anything, last night, Big Boi took to Twitter to announce the official title of the album: Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.
Immediately before that tweet, he announced that he just recorded a song with Big K.R.I.T. and UGK.
Big Boi's new album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors just got a detailed tracklist, via Def Jam, and it reveals some surprising collaborators. Little Dragon, who were previously assumed to be dropped from the album, appear on three tracks. Also present: Jai Paul (!!!), Wavves (!), A$AP Rocky, Killer Mike, T.I., Kelly Rowland, UGK, Big K.R.I.T., Kid Cudi, and Phantogram.
The album includes the previously shared tracks "Lines", "Gossip", "Mama Told Me", and "She Said OK". It's due out December 11 via Def Jam.

A bit disappointing tbh, each track I'm just like wow this is gonna be amazing and it kinda goes nowhere. Could of done a lot more. There are a few good tracks though. The phantogram/little dragon collabs are all superb

Let me tell you that it's a grower. I was VERY disappointed during my first day of listening sessions, now I'm starting to love the whole less hip-hop oriented vibe.
Thom Pettie, CPU and Objectum Sexuality are definitely my favorites.
This is incredible!! "Shoes For Running," "CPU," "Objectum Sexuality," "Thom Pettie," and "Lines." The features are all great, love how he's working with indie artists on this release. Phantogram and Big Boi sound fantastic together, and Wavves and Little Dragon both deliver on their appearances.
Any other year, this would be the hip-hop album of they year. It fits nicely between Nas and Kendrick Lamar.

Tremendous Damage is unpalatable tho.
Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if this is a grower! I'll give it another listen ! Thom Petite and CPU were actually my standouts on my original listen. I like more songs on it than Kendrick's LP actually... but the songs I liked on Kendrick's I REALLY liked so it kind of balances out. I like Big Boi's less hip-hop direction more so between either it's a toss up on my hip-hop album of the year. Big Boi's debut was amazing, so I just don't think this LP sunk in on me yet. The first took a long time to grow too.
