Meeting People Online: Have you done it?
I was watching the show Catfish on MTV. For those who don't know what the show is about - it's about a show where people who are in relationships online but have never met each other.
So is the person on the other side telling the whole truth? Are the pictures really them? Are they who they say they are?

Never, and I probably won't ever unless I 100% trust that person and know that they are telling the truth about their identity.

When I was younger, I kinda did that but then I realized that it was stupid and stopped it, I mean if it's even hard to trust in ppl you already know, it's way harder with ppl behind a pc.

I usually met people online from Myspace when I was back into being all ~scene~ and a Myspace celeb (I can't). Anyway, I met this girl from Florida who was HUGE in the scene. When I mean huge, she had the extensions, the tattoos, piercings etc. Well in her Myspace pictures she looked really cute.
I met her up at the mall, and the minute I saw her walking towards me my stomach dropped. She had rainbow hair, looked about 30 and was wearing Hello Kitty everything. I was only 15 at the time so I was scared as ****. I ditched her and said my dad's actually waiting on me in the car right now but it was nice meeting you and BOOKED it. I felt so bad but I was not going to be seen with a troll at the mall.

I've talked to people on FB and then met them in person. Usually we are in the same city though so it's not like it is weird.

I live. I miss the scene days and the countless fake accounts.

I met my last boyfriend on a dating website ( ), so yes. It was the best relationship I've been in so far though, so I'm not complaining.

I've met a few people online. Never for anything more than just friends though.

I've met an online friend before, but we happened to run into each other by accident once before that so it was ok. We don't live that far away from each other but still haven't takin the friendship to an irl friendship

I met several of my exes online, but it wasn't an online relationship. We'd actually meet in person before we dated.

In my country, the number of people who get killed, robbed and raped, and those who acquired HIV increase each year because of meeting those folks they only knew from the internet especially from social media.

Once recently weirdly enough they were better looking than their pictures and it wasn't a creepy experience at all.

I have met both of my long term boyfriends online... BUT I will say this.
If you are meeting someone online, never trust the people who take pictures from the neck up only.
I learned the hard way.
