expectation of analysts was too great/crazy/illogical. (they expected
217% increase in profits from last year third quarter).
When actual
profits only increased 70% from last year 3rd quarter, they panic and hit the SELL SELL SELL button.

According to their report, SM Entertainment’s third quarter profit was 11.7 billion KRW (approximately $10.7 million USD). This is a 70% increase compared to the same period last year, but the result was only half of analyst expectations of 20 billion – 23 billion KRW (approximately $18.4 million – $21.1 million USD).

I don't get how the analysts expect a kpop label to make around $20 million in profits per quarter, especially when a lot of music labels are struggling.
Take Warner Music Group for example:
maybe the record holder belong to Warner Music Group....
look at that $6 billion loss in 2002 (probably a write-off/write down of intangible value).
