Ugh. Her tone, vibrato, runs, lower register and belting are all flawless. This is her best ever performance of the anthem and one of the best this side of Whitney. She performs it exactly how it should be performed - making it her own without moving too far from its foundations.

I still always think of her very first two national anthem performances as her best but this one is the best out of the rest to me.

I have to disagree. She's a much better vocalist now than back in 05/06. The only thing she did better back then was her belting because her voice hadn't yet dropped, but now her vocals come with so many more dimensions. But I can see why you prefer the other ones tbh.

I agree that she is a better vocalist now and her voice has more dimensions but I enjoyed her flow better back in 05/06. She used to sing so fast. She sings slowly and more mature now. I don't know if you know what I mean, but that fast way that she used to sing is what made me fall in love with her voice to begin with so that's why I am a little biased to her earlier NAs.
