I saw IGN make a video talking about the game that defines our generation. I never watched it but I think it was Minecraft based on the comments.
I honestly don't think that this game has come yet. Based on how huge a series has been, it's prolly Call of Duty but those games are severely basic. Halo was huge but I'm not too sure. Minecraft is definitely the huge thing right now but we'll have to see later.
Games like Tomb Raider, all the Mario spin offs and its main titles, The Sims, GTA: San Andreas/Vice City/III, Tetris, Zelda, Pokémon, Final Fantasy, Sonic, and Bejewled were able to shake up their respective genres and spaces and make an impact on gaming as a whole. They also sold very well. Which game is defining the current generation right now?
More than like it's the latter but I'd say either GTA's Vice City/San Andreas or the entire Call of Duty series. imo Nintendo doesn't a have game or series to contend for this title. They have released GREAT games this gen but their last game changer was Super Mario 64. It was all about multiplatformers this time around.
