There's been a trend since 2010 of celebrating "outcast" and releasing atrocious "self-empowering" cliché pop songs but Popular did it in a way that will never be topped. It's why I loved the show so much. It was definitely outrageous a lot but when it tried to touch base with what it was like to be a teenager, it did an amazing job.
