My hometown favors Obama. The town I'm currently in (Jonesboro, AR) favors Romney. You know, even that racist politician lives here, that said black people ought to be thankful for slavery
Obama.I live in an Overwhelmingly blue county due to the large black population, and the population of white liberals combined. My county has voted democratic in every presidential election since it was created in 1881.The county to my west supports Obama as well. The county to my Southeast is a swing county.
But in the city of Atlanta, which is largely African American + a big Latino population, Obama has a lot of supporters. In my hometown... I'll just say they stole our yard sign
Romney.. my town is very gay and race (my town consists of predominatley Irish, Italian, and Russian/Ukrainian people with like 5% actually being black or asian ) friendly too
The main reasons are that "Obama hasn't done anything" and that most people in my town are in the upper-middle and upper class
The area is predominantly Democratic, and has voted for the Democratic Party's presidential candidate in every election since the city's founding in 1869. [Igrt's city] is an activist community and politics are lively, visible, and often contentious, and like many communities, often dealing with issues of race and class. The shifting alliances of the area's political action committees since the 1980s has led to a very active local political scene. Notable groups include the [Igrt's city] Committee on the Affairs of Black People, the [Igrt's city] People's Alliance, and the Friends of [Igrt's city]. The first two groups tend to be affiliated with Democratic party activists, while the third group tends to attract Republican activists. Compared to other similarly sized Southern cities, [Igrt's city] has a larger than average population of middle class African-Americans and white liberals. Working together in coalition, these two groups have dominated city and county politics since the early 1980s.
