Beyoncé performs a NON SINGLE at the VMAs = Top 20 debut
Alicia performs her LEAD SINGLE at the VMAs = no where near
And that Pon De Floor sample is not more commercial than GOF

RTW IS commercial. Half of the beyhive thought it would smash. It fits right in beyonce's niche which is dancy urban uptempo songs (just like her other 3 lead songles, may i add).
That being said, GOF is a better song, so that's why it's doing better.
