I mean, I just watched it for the first time in the beginning of the week and I'm obsessed, It needs to be one of the best movies I ever watched, The direction, the music, Ledger's and Gyllenhaal's acting.
It makes me so emotional and makes me want to search for love. The message it's too awesome too

The sex scene could've been better.

I hated it. They were too flawed and selfish and I just felt sorry for their wives the whole time. They were dumb as bricks and didn't have a lot of chemistry.

It's a great movie.

I hate Ennis It's all his fault but I felt so bad in the last scene

I couldn't get over it until after 2 weeks. I couldn't get out of bed and I cried in the showers because of this movie. Never ever I experienced that kind of sorrow, not even in real life. It had great impact on how I perceive gay people. AM no more homophobic.

Was the penetration real?

Quite agree and the makeup when they get older too.

The Impact. If everybody in the world watch this movie, homophobia it's gonna vanish of the map.

Jack's wife doesn't even seen to care about he, she's a mess.

Ironic. jake died in the show but the other guy died in rl already.

First time I watched it, I couldn't understand Heath's accent at all..

I was watching with a straight friends and I wasn't out to anyone back then..

It still is a great movie. It can get boring during the first hour, but it is a a great movie.

This is true... But well, every cheater out there is flawed and selfish IMO, and for the movie I'd say it worked pretty well.

A brilliant film

One of the few gay romances films worth watching.

I often bitch about the gay community lowering their film standards and. loving and praising terrible films just because they are gay themed like Shelter, or Latter Days for example. But Brokeback Mountain is one of the few fantastic romance films released in recent years, gay or otherwise.

I'd have been far more understanding if there were actual feelings between the guys, but they have so few scenes together. There's hardly anything between them at the start and then suddenly they have loveless, frustrated sex in a tent. It seemed like they only wanted to be together cause they had no other guy to have sex with. If it were advertised and hailed as some kind of commentary on the flaws of the human race and how we all ruin each other's lives, then it's a pretty decent movie. But as a "gay love story" it's a total mess.

Never seen it

Well, I'm far from an "expert" on gay movies, but I think maybe back then it was hard for them to actually admit they had "feelings" for each other?

I don't know, maybe it is a mess as "gay love story"... But maybe that's why it appeals to a bigger audience than most of the "traditional" gay movies, so who knows, it was possibly supposed to be like it is.
