I Just had my first virus with my computer & It scared the **** outta me. I started up my computer & went to open internet when this thing popped up on the screen. It was a police thing it said Metropolitan police then then your local area's police has been supervising this IP address for a while & spotted illegal activity. I thought I was getting locked up for downloading songs illegally But then it asked for £100 fine to put in my bank details. So I searched it on my iPhone & sure enough it was a virus. I have No idea how I got it & just ran a system restore & now it's been working fine. I'm scared as **** though never told my parents cause they would freak but going to ask my dad when I can get new anti virus since my Norton ran out last week.

Has anyone else had this virus or any other viruses ? How did you get rid of it ? Basically I've made this thread so we can help each other if we ever get viruses since some computer/virus help websites can be confusing. This will probably flop though lol.

Buy a good antivirus/anti-spyware.

This happened to me with an FBI scam and asked 200 bucks. I restored my computer to an earlier point and it stopped. Many people have had this problem

LOL I have a paid subscription to Norton and it didn't help at all in this case.

download malware-bytes, do a full scan, except changes, it's gone.

Best virus removal software out there. This isn't really anti-virus, instead it will just scan for viruses and delete them. And the scans are very quick, around 10 minutes or so depending on your computer. My old Windows laptop only took 5 minutes or so. You can use it unlimited for 30 days and then buy it after that. You could just scan and remove the virus then delete it. But it is very useful, I've used it many times.

There was no problem for me, but sis, you better do da Malware-bytes scan, I didn't do it and it cme back with a back-door, and restored everything, Do the scan, you should be good.

Thanks for the advice I'll do that if this restore doesn't work. I have a feeling it won't my computer has been going slow AF since the restore lol.

I feel what you feel. It's scary as hell when it shuts down everything slowly then turns wight and shows you on webcam..

Is your computer 32 or 64 bit

An easy way to check is to go to computer----C: drive----and then see if your comp. has a folder called Program Files (x86) or something like that
