ROUGE (Brazilian Spice Girls) back together for new tour
Rouge was a Brazilian girl group pop music formed in 2002 through the reality show Popstars, made by Brazilian television network SBT and Argentinean production RGB. The group consisted of Aline Wirley, Fantine Tho, Karin Hils, Luciana Andrade and Patricia Lissa. [1] After being selected out of 30,000 candidates, they signed a record deal with Sony Music to release a studio album. This album, titled Rouge (2002), sold over 1.5 million copies in Brazil, acquiring the certificate of diamond disc by the Brazilian Association of Record Producers (ABPD). The album's success was fueled by the hits "Can you not Resist", "Wet Kiss" and especially "Ragatanga" which stayed 11 weeks in first place in Brazilian radio stations and helped establish the group as a national phenomenon, being named from "Brazilian Spice Girls." With the success of the group's debut album, was released in the same year, a remix album titled Remixes Rouge, which has become an option to reach the audience of electronic music. The second studio album from the group, C'est La Vie (2003), sold nearly 700,000 copies and produced the hits "Shine la Luna" and "An Angel Came I speak." In 2004, after the departure of the group Luciana Andrade was announced amid various rumors, the four remaining members went ahead and released the albums Blah Blah Blah (2004) and A Thousand and One Nights (2005) before finally splitting in 2006.
