No, not likely. Many artists still have good sales, look outside the pop zone and you'll see country, and rock artists have very good sales.

They haven't changed Diamond, so why would they change this?

That would be dumb. The first Country Album to go Platinium was "Wanted the Outlaws" in 1976. Country was huge in the 90's and 00's and many artists went Platinium. But when stores quit selling cd's, how is it even possible to sell a million now a days. I love the physical cd, not i-tune single.
It's sad that country radio only plays the same 10 people. Up to 2006 you could hear a lot of different artists.
