It was start in late 2013/early 2014. The new "IT" social network will begin dominating around that time. I predict a total Facebook extinction by 2016.

People have said it would have faded already and it just reached an amazing milestone of 1 billion active users. It will probably last longer than we expect, honestly.

I feel like Facebook has cemented itself as a social media staple. I don't see it happening any time soon but I may be wrong.
