Best advice I can give.....Is if your job has departments learn or asked to get trained/cross-trained in different areas...
They may not give you a raise but that's okay because you're learning new skills/experience....
Then ask or look around and see if new positions(that you trained under) are available and transfer to another department......
Note: (the company may even have a parent company or subsidiaries so ask around)
Hopefully that particular manager is not over that new area...
