Is anyone so naive to think that what they can say whatever they want into the public domain of the internet and not get called out for disgusting and backwards tweets*? I'm pretty sure this site doesn't have access to tweet from private accounts, so it's not as if there's any privacy breech. I can input any of those words into twitter's search and those tweets would appear anyway.

Besides, I doubt anyone's life is "destroyed" from being called out for saying something homophobic on twitter.

*And to clarify, I understand the importance of context in these situations and I'm for the queer community using and reclaiming those words for themselves.

Imagine if it counted forums, ATRL before the censorship would have blown those counters through the roof.

it's not even about the use of them on twitter, people pull this crap every hour of the day and it's disgusting. as far as those douchebags concerns are, they draw the line at name calling when it's being directed at them and it's completely hypocritical.

and this does destroy lives. words have power and just saying that if you are effected then you're a weak bitch, then that makes you no better than the low life calling others those names. words have power, and saying sticks and stones just doesn't cut it. with the right words and the right time, someone can commit suicide because of what someone tells them.
