When Alicia Keys released her new song, ‘Girl on Fire’, it was obvious that she have overstepped the boundaries of her vocal range, especially when she performed the song live at the 2012 MTV VMA and almost ruptured a lung. Well, the singer has come forward to admit that definitely pushed herself too far.
Speaking to The New York Times about the development of ‘Girl on Fire’, Keys joked that it while recording the song, which she wrote herself, she wondered why she wrote it in such a high key. “What I’m gonna ask myself is why I wrote this song so high because I didn’t even get to the chorus yet, and I’m asking myself what made me write this song so high.”

Alicia is amazing love her!
But I wish she would sing the chorus harder where she screams: This girl is on fireeeee.... this would made the song much better :/
