When I first joined there were some terms that I always laughed at because some I have never heard of and some aren't used much out of ATRL. So how has some of these terms come to be?

One of the terms that really gets me is "Stan" like when someone says an Adele stan or something like that. I know it means a fan or something along those lines but how has this most popular term on ATRL become to be? Never heard this term anywhere else but ATRL ._.

Some other things that I only usually see on ATRL is when someone says "YASSSSS" xD and when people describe someone as being "pressed". Are these terms actually used in real life or they were just made up somehow in ATRL XD?

Yeah people use the word pressed in real life all the time

As in " I'm pressed for time,and I don't wanna be late"

Or "All this homework and chemistry studying has me pressed"

Also I don't use the word stan that much,but I put it in my sig just becuz...It's ATRL

Oh and girls and gay fem guys use the word "YAAASS" in real life when something good happens or they're really excited,or either rooting for something/someone(like their fave artist slayed a live performance)

IDK those are the best example I can give you right now hun.

Very few of it is unique to ATRL, it's mostly gay and urban lingo.

Not trying to be rude..but are y'all American? We use MESS and YAAASS a lot...Well mostly in the black community.I don't hear white people saying it that much. but I know my mom will be like
" You a hot messs child" or when we are in Church praising the lordt,my Grandma will be like YAASS Lordt!.....she likes to get her shout on.

It's basically a cultural thing..if you look it at that way

all i know is that i know flop irl and mess. i knew stan,adding T after every word,etc.

I'm Mexican American and my family uses those terms too!

My mom loves to add T after everything and says I'm a hot mess whenever I quickly get ready for school or fangirl too hard.

Everybody does that in my family,or they put an extra r on something to make it sound proper.

Stan = From an Eminem song called "Stan" where it describes a stalker-fan (stan) who eventually kills himself over Eminem not responding to his letters.

Basically, a stalker-fan.

I'm veering off a topic just a bit, but the only word used on ATRL that I really haven't heard in my real life is "down" I'm trying to think of an example but cannot for some reason. I'm not really sure how it came about either.
