I don't want to buy an anti virus, because I personally believe that it's not really worth it. So I'm wondering.. what's the best free one out there? I know Duca said Avast and AVG are amazing, but I want to hear more opinions too.

Avast. You just have to disable the noises it makes

Are these available for Macs?

The one by Microsoft.

Its known to be the strongest, lightest, and most updated. Microsoft knows what they're doing. I used to use other services, but when I got Microsoft Secutity Essentials, my computer ran much faster, and never got a virus, or any type of spyware.

Just buy a new computer if you think you have a virus, it's easier.

EASILY Malwarebytes...the others don't compare

No point. Not many people use Macs in comparrison to Microsoft. So virus makes won't care about them, since they're a non-factor. A virus for a Mac is extremely rare, Windows however is a different story. So no need for one.

The ones listed so far aren't impressive. Especially AVG. That is a mess.

I recommend Comodo, it's more complex than the others gurls' anti-viruses but it offers the full package.

Wouldn't you rather use one from a reputable company, then one from one that isn't? Look up reviews for Microsoft Security Essentials, its well liked.

I use AVG and I'm very happy with it. Can't believe I used to pay for that awful Kaspersky

Seriously? Some of us would rather get rid of a virus for free than shell out $500.

They're getting pretty big.

Reputable != efficiency. Some uses so much RAM that it slows computers down..

It's worth a try. I don't know much about Macs
