compared to its year-ago series-opener (8.7/14 on Wednesday 9/21/11), [B]this was down by 23 percent. And a one-hour edition of competing The Voice on NBC (7.3/13 from 8-9 p.m.) bested the first hour of The X Factor (6.1/10) by 20 percent.
They've been promoting Britney on the X Factor for months now. I was even watching national/world news and they were talking about Britney on the X Factor. Plus the Voice has been on all week I thought people would be tired.
People still think Britney is the Mega-Brand/ Ratings grabber she used to be. If Femme Fatale album sales didn't do it, maybe these ratings will bring her stans back to earth. Especially since they made Britney the face of X-Factor this season
I love both artists but definitely favor Christina. Honestly, I was expecting X Factor to absolutely slaughter the Voice in ratings last night! No matter how great the show, I figured a season premiere would blow a third night of another similar show out of the water. Guess not!
It really has nothing to do with Britney or Christina though. The blind auditions on the Voice are just amazing TV.
