Celeb News: Britney Had Panic Attacks At The First X Factor Audition

However, co-judge and show boss Simon Cowell was on hand to help his new judge through her nerves.

He says, "On the first day, one hundred per cent she didn't think she was going to be able to do this. It's the Roman Colosseum – five thousand people booing if you say no. But I'm seeing this woman blossom week by week doing this. I think she's going to be good for the show, and I think the show is going to be good for her."

Meanwhile, Cowell fears Spears will be "devastated" after rival American TV bosses decided to put her head-to-head with rival Christina Aguilera in a small screen ratings battle.

The music mogul has branded producers behind the U.S. version of The Voice "cold-hearted" for scheduling an extra episode of the TV talent show at the same time as the season premiere of his singing contest The X Factor next week.

The second season debut of the music mogul's Fox show, which features new judges Spears and Demi Lovato, is set to hit screens in America on Wednesday.

However, its launch could be overshadowed by an additional installment of NBC rival The Voice, which features Christina Aguilera as one of the panellists.

Cowell admits he is fuming over the move, insisting he thought he had a "gentleman's agreement" in place over the scheduling of the programmes.

He tells TMZ.com, "This is a cynical, cold-hearted, unprofessional way of doing business. Britney's not going to appreciate the fact that Christina - who has been a bit of a rival – isn't allowing Britney to have a night of her own...

"These guys have really got it in for us. It's nothing short of dirty tricks. The reason they've done this is they don't want people to see X Factor because they've heard how good the series is. They don't want their audience to see Britney Spears. They don't want their audience to see Demi Lovato.

"(Spears is) going to be devastated because she's put her heart and soul into this."

I won't believe it until it’s confirmed by ELLE. I do think that she should talk about whatever is going on with her and whatever issues she may have (whether it's confidence issues or something else,) so everyone would finally stop making ridiculous assumptions and stop over-analyzing everything she does. It’s for the best. It can only help her image.

Guys why don't lets just see the show and stop speculating ..... next week the X-factor premieres and will be know how Britney did as a judge

I'm honestly surprised she even admitted it, assuming that it's true of course - which I think it is. Usually sites don't say 'Britney said......'. I think if it was ******** they would've said that a 'source' or 'insider' said that, not Britney in an interview that will be published next month.

I can't wait to read the whole interview. She really seems to be trying with this show and opening up a lot more.

D'aww. That's so sad to hear. Like Duca said, she should come out with whatever the **** is wrong with her, it will inspire people and also stop the speculation.

Obviously the premiere won't show Britney having a panic attack on screen.

It'll be edited, we will REALLY know what Britney's like on the show during the live shows.

They were just talking about this on TV. If this is true, I hope nothing happens during the live shows.
She seems to be handling the pressure much better now though.

Don't forget Britney had a nervous breakdown and a lot of times people who have them never fully recover.

My bosses wife had one and she was never the same again. She doesn't even work now. I really feel sorry for Britney and understand why she is so sheltered. I wish her the best.
