I'm sorry...y'all can have the Trey Songz and the Chris Browns, but Miguel, I feel, is the most talented and artistic R&B artist out right now (well him and Frank). He's revamping the R&B landscape that many of the other R&B artist have ruined. I was born in 1987 and grew up in the 90s so I grew up listening to Brian McKnight, Gerald Levert, Prince, Michael Jackson, Jodeci, H-Town, Boys II Men, and I guess they spoiled me because I just can't get into today's male R&B artist. There are a select few gems out there who get paid dust because they do sing songs with meaning and have these sensual melodies, soul, and rhythm that originally defined R&B music.
Don't get me wrong, I love my raunchy sex anthems, but it seems that's what many male R&B artists sing about and they sing about it at face value. Miguel paints and entire picture with the love, emotion, and connection that I feel a person should truly value when it comes to sex. It feels great and we're all down for a freak, but it's way more spirituality to it than just the physicality. I listen to his songs, and as a female, he makes me feel my self worth and not just like a piece of meat like others do.
I feel like Miguel is taking it back to the real R&B roots and putting a new school spin on it and it works brilliantly. He sings, writes, plays the guitar, dances... He does most of what the more popular R&B artists do, only better, but doesn't get the credit he deserves. In my opinion, he's the Prince of our generation.
Get into Miguel, girls. "Adorn" is a beautiful song and I can not wait until his 2nd CD comes out. Kaleidoscope Dream will be the best R&B album of 2012. Mark my words.
Let him stay underrated. I like him better. I hate when an artist becomes too mainstream too quickly I lost my connection with them. Im not ready to give him up yet.

Nope, if you call this underrated... there are much more who doesn't get their recognition.
Who, exactly?
Miguel is the best R&B artist out right now and doesn't get nearly as much hype as others such as Chris, Usher, Trey, and Frank who release mostly trash.
