The movie centers around the story of a 14 year old girl's brutal murder and her journey through what seems as an interpretation of Heaven. It depicts the drama of those who you leave behind when you die , the agony of the person that dies and their attempt to heal their beloved ones. It's iconography is beyond epic so I really suggest you see it . There is also some really outstanding acting and the plot thickes as the movie progresses .
this movie made me love stanley tucci. he's such a versatile actor and he plays the paedophile BRILLIANTLY, perhaps better than any other actor could. to go from the devil wears prada, to this, to now playing cesar flickerman in the hunger games just shows how great an actor he is. most people don't even know it's him in this movie lmao
This movie is everything! I read the book and when the movie came out I was literally crying my eyes out throughout the whole thing. Everything about it is great.

I agree! and I'm glad that there was a movie for it. Because reading the book, you don't get all those epic scenes properly in your imagination. But the movie just kicks it up to a new level
Tucci is fantastic, Ronan isn't half bad, either, but an excellent cast can only do so much with a shoddy script.
Jackson's wasn't able to find the right tone. His vision for this project was off.
This.
I remember the movie was set to be a big Oscar contender and then it was released and dragged by critics. Tucci was obviously the best and Whalberg was surprisingly decent but the movie was a total mess.
