Gaga fading from pop. Troll or not?
After LA Times' claim that Lady Gaga , the world's pop titan , is fading it became clear that Born This Way is to the eyes of the general public a letdown .
I don't want this thread to be -in any way- considered as flamebait . To get my point across I will use another global superstar , Rihanna.
Born This Way sold 6 million copies and will continue to deliver , till the tour stops , spawned 4 top ten singles (in the US) , two of which were worldwide smashes ( Born This Way sold 8.5 millions , The Edge Of Glory sold more than 5.5 millions) and finally the Born This Way Ball a arenastadium worldwide tour , with sold out tours everywhere that will gross a minimum 250M .
It really strikes me that such a stellar era would go to be considered as an underperforming era , while it arguably IS Gaga's most 'low profile' era , the era with the least appeal to the general public. Nevertheless , I can't help but point out that Rihanna's Talk That Talk era had really underwhelming album sales and even more underwhelming singles performance , especially if you consider Rihanna's gigantic radio and digital power ( Rihanna only managed to score two top 10 hits out of all her singles choices and features - We Found Love was a smash , but where have you been did not deliver as many would expect it would) .
It only took one song to flop , for everyone to go on a frenzy and say that Gaga is history , (and that is the reason I am setting the Rihanna example) , while Rihanna had like two or three songs that failed to break the top 30 or so .
However I have never heard anyone fan or critic say that Rihanna is fading , is Gaga's Marry The Night failing to break the US top 10 really an indicative that Gaga lost her status as a pop monster or is it just haters doing the ultimate most ? Are people really so eager to see Gaga fading from the pop landscape ? I really want to hear rounded , mature opinions so keep it cute.

Her last hit was Alejandro, after that only the bullied people and the transexual community use her music...

They were all saying this when Rated R was released, then Loud happened and they stopped, trust once ARTPOP smashes people will stop saying that, they just want it so badly to happen that they tell themselves an underperformance means she will never recover, she just needs to prove that she can recover the power she had in her peak and people will get it that she is not one of the stars that the career dies once she underperforms

Because Rihanna has proven herself and her longevity already. I mean the critics called her a one hit wonder after PDR. They said she was fading in the RR era. They have learned their lesson.

She isn't fading, the only reason the album didn't perform like some wanted to was because of the poor single choices. Her tour says otherwise, she is far from a fading popstar.

One flop really isn't the end of the world like most haters make out to be. TOY by Katy peaked at around the same number as MTN and people claimed she was just a 2 hit wonder. But then she managed to pump out 9 top 5 hits with 6 of them going #1.
I suppose with Rihanna, people are more lenient with her flops because her discography is littered with them. It's just normal for her I suppose. Mix this in with the fact that she is still a force 7 years into her career and it becomes quite hard to say that Rihanna will fade away.
People just weren't here for MTN. Her next single will be big and will definitely chart in the top 10.

So why was Judas, Edge of Glory, You & I WW hits then? Your comment is obviously ludicrous, and unnecessary. It doesn't hurt because its false, the only thing that hurts is your ignorance.

Born This Way sold more than Alejandro , The Edge peaked at #3 and sold more than 5.5 million copies worldwide , You And I sold 2 Millions in the US only and peaked at #6 and finally Judas peaked at 10 but went to sell more than 3 millions WW .. Seriously I will consider your comment merely as trolling ...

The media love to build people up to superstardom and then tear them down.
Some have tried from the beginning to discredit, but her musical success was undeniable, so now that she actually has had under-performing singles they could "justify" their sky-is-falling mentality. Plus, they were given an AntiGaga in Adele, and a feud with Madonna.
People are fickle and a tad simplistic. The moment she appears to be back on top with a #1 hit the GP love, she'll be in their good books again. It's all the drama of showbiz.

Again with the ignorance, if you have nothing educated to say then please shut your computer and take yourself to school. Hopefully you will learn to think critically.

Absolutely, because without that country she would not be more than the new Ciara.

Gaga has been on a downward spiral (in terms of success) since 2010, it's not a sudden 'flop' like people make out.
Gaga's Born This Way actually performed on target, but because ATRL and the GP have no idea what Interscope's aim was, they'll assume it underperformed because it didn't smash like previous releases, 'The Fame' and 'The Fame Monster.'
Looking at the bigger picture, Gaga's so-called 'flop album' sold more than any other competitive female pop artist (except Adele, which everyone will agree, was a phenomenon) in both the United States, Worldwide and as an International Artist in Japan. In single sales, Gaga had two hit singles, one medium hit and two 'under-performers.' After all of this, the album promoted an upcoming world tour which has so far sold out 100% in both stadiums and arenas. Is it really that bad?
I'm still waiting for these ATRL members calling Born This Way a flop to provide their 'smashing' receipts for 2011.

The fact that Gaga had more top10 make no sense.
Rihanna released 5 singles, 1 of them not released on pop and another one without video and promo (a performance after months).
Lady Gaga released 5 singles, 1 of them went only for its debut, then we all know how it finished.
