"There's this whole techno takeover going on right now that just does my head in," Pink told Billboard.
"I knew I didn't want to do that. I'd rather dance around and sing goofy songs."
Speaking of the fact that it took longer to find success with her singles in the US than elsewhere, she explained that it gave her time to "hone... [her] craft" as she toured the globe.
"I was always on the road in the UK and Australia, and things were really great over there. Then I got to come home and be left alone," she said.
"It gave me lot of time to create my show and to become a performer. I would go on 22-month tours and work my ass off, and it's been the biggest blessing of my life that now I am a touring artist.
"It got me out of the popularity contest that music can be sometimes and gave me time to hone my craft as a stage performer. I'm also grateful... I got to come back and do the Grammys [in 2010]. That was my 'A-ha'."
I have a lot of respect for Pink. I don't think she means she hates proper dance music, just the watered down stuff that Usher, Lady Gaga, Chris Brown, etc. Have been doing since 2007. She's right, everybody is getting bored of it.
oh please! I just can't! She just said she's not gonna do dance music ala David Guetta. And she never do it!!! she hasn't said she HATES dance music in general. What's wrong??
